Who are we?

Family business

Our story starts years ago. To 1955 to be precise. Grandpa Daan Nolten comes to the Netherlands from Indonesia. He grew up with delicious Eastern cuisine. It is therefore not surprising that he wants to introduce the rich flavors to as many people as possible. In 1960 he started selling tempeh. Just from his car. His range was soon expanded to include Indian boemboes and sauces.

The car was exchanged for business premises in Arnhem in 1962. In 1979 the company moved to Velp. In this business premises, son Dennis learned all the tricks of the trade from an early age.

In 1982 Dennis took over the company from his father. He hires more employees, some of whom still work at Vida today. The company grew and Dennis decided to move to Marconistraat in Zevenaar in 2000.

Here Vida not only prepares Indonesian rice table products, but also offers an extensive international range. The children of Dennis and his wife Iole also appear to be passionate about the business. Here they take their first steps on the production floor.

In 2016 it is time for a new step. The current, larger business premises are being built at the Mega in Zevenaar. This will be followed by an extension in 2020 to increase the production of tempeh.

Vida has grown over the years through word of mouth and so has its knowledge and expertise. The personal attention, flexibility and passion for the profession are still the same.
